Paul was recently been appointed Senior Vice President of Operation and Business Development with the Clearview Aviation Business Park. Paul’s responsibilities include overall operations, planning process, corporate and government relations, public affairs, new business development and marketing.
Paul also serves on the Board of Directors for Allied Marine & Industrial, located in Port Colborne.
Paul’s considerable knowledge of the responsibilities and inter-workings of Municipal, Regional, Provincial and Federal governments assist him greatly in developing and implementing strategic plans that lead to success.
Paul founded Compenso Communications in 2004. Since then, Compenso has successfully worked with a large number of companies in various sectors to develop and implement growth strategies, expansion plans, public relations strategies and mergers.
Paul was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and Member of Parliament (MP) for Simcoe-Grey from 1997-2004. He has more than 25 years’ experience in policy and communications roles within Federal and Municipal governments.
Prior to his June 1997 election as the first Member of Parliament for the newly created riding of Simcoe-Grey, Paul was a Municipal Councillor for the Town of Collingwood. During his tenure on council, he served as Chair for numerous Committees and was directly involved in the policy-making and legislation implementation for the Municipality.
Paul has served as the Vice Chair of the Standing Committee on Heritage, at which time he participated in an intensive study of Canada’s Broadcast System; the Joint Committee on Scrutiny of Regulations; authored the chapter on auto leasing for the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Financial Services; served as a member of the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Youth Entrepreneurship. Paul is also a former Chair of Canada/United Nations Parliamentary Association and was also former Chair of The Canada/NATO Parliamentary Association.
In addition, Paul founded the Canada/Pakistan Parliamentary Association serving as Chair from 2002 – 2004 and has maintained a strong network in Pakistan having worked directly with the President’s office along with various members of the business community.
It is with a great sense of pride that Paul successfully sponsored a Private Members Bill in Parliament recognizing September 3rd as Merchant Navy Veteran’s Day. This date provides Canadians the opportunity to recognize and remember the enormous contributions made by Merchant Navy Veterans in support of Canada.
